Matthew Gnall had a successful career as a goalkeeper and team captain of the Men's Soccer team at Wesleyan University.  Over the course of his tenure in goal, the team captured a NESCAC Championship and made two NCAA tournament appearances. He has also played semi-professionally in the Premier Development League for the New Jersey Rangers and Maine Premier Phoenix.  Gnall began his career in education and athletics in 2008, working as a teacher and coach at the Greenwich Country Day School.

In 2013, Gnall returned to his home state of New Jersey to assume duties at Blair Academy as the head coach of the boys' varsity team and a member of the English Department.  At Blair, Gnall resurrected a dormant program and concluded the 2015 season with a school record for victories in a season and a top ten national ranking.  Gnall has also guided many of his student-athletes through the recruiting process and has been instrumental in their placement at some of the most selective schools in the country.

Gnall has also served as a staff coach and Director of College Counseling for Black Rock FC.  Gnall has been responsible for an initiative that has overseen the guidance of 150 players in the program and directed recruiting efforts that resulted in placements in the Pac-12, ACC, Big Ten, Ivy League, NESCAC, and Liberty League among others.
